Detroit Speed, Inc. is a leader in the Automotive Aftermarket Industry specializing in Engineering, Design and Manufacturing. We are seeking a Sales Manager to provide solid leadership and customer service within the sales department.
This candidate must have the proven ability to motivate and lead a cross functional selling team, have familiarity with data analysis and reporting, and experience with developing sales strategies. Candidate must also have problem solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information. One must also have the knowledge of standard business financial fundamentals. They would be responsible for attending department meetings and develop and present updates and new information regarding sales team performance.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution. A minimum of five years of related selling experience or the equivalent combination of formal education and experience, within the automotive aftermarket industry is preferred. This position will be the main point of contact for the Dealer Program, which will involve Dealer Program Management including dealer support, training, and overall performance and improvement initiatives.
They will also initiate new dealer contacts and facilitate the contract renewal process with existing dealers. Some travel would be necessary in order to attend trade shows.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are a must. Candidate must have excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, and SAP preferred. Detroit Speed, Inc. is a growing hot rod design and manufacturing corporation seeking a candidate who can mesh with the existing team members. This candidate must be capable of answering the phone and selling Detroit Speed products over the phone. The candidate must also be able to answer technical questions regarding installation of these products. Vehicle knowledge, particularly Automotive Aftermarket knowledge, is a must. The candidate must be outgoing and able to converse with the customer about his/her vehicle project. Candidate must be sales oriented and have a sense of urgency to accomplish goals.
