The Inaugural Get Started Racing Driving School a Huge Success
Michael Manning's DSE "Equipped" 1969 Camaro runs the autocross at the inaugural Get Started Racing Driving School.
Mooresville, NC - What a great weekend for Jet-Hot, Detroit Speed, and the inaugural Get Started Racing driving school that took place October 14th-16th at Virginia International Raceway. The weather was fantastic and everybody was excited about the chance to improve their driving skills on the skid pad and autocross.
The long weekend started out Friday at the Jet Hot facility in Burlington, NC that included tech inspection, classroom instruction and a hosted lunch. A more thorough hands-on tech inspection followed later in the afternoon in preparation for the driving portion of the school that would take place Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday saw a full day that started out with classroom instruction which was followed by driver training skills. This was the first chance for the attendees to get behind the wheel and show the instructors what they could do behind the wheel.
On Sunday the group got back out there for some more instruction and full-course autocross laps. This was, by far, the best part of the weekend for the drivers as they had a chance to show the instructors everything they soaked in from the weekend's instruction. There were 4 different layouts for the autocross and everybody had a great time. We even saw a few smoke filled donuts out there!
Detroit Speed and Jet-Hot would like to thank everybody who came out for the instruction. We feel
this was a very successful event and we look forward to putting it on for years to come.
